I had worked for several years as a teacher in Korea and Thailand before joining Direct English. I have now been with this organization for 5 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I have learned invaluable skills and gained experience I would not have gained elsewhere. I consider it an absolute privilege to have the opportunity to impact a student’s life in a profound and measurable way. That, in my opinion, is the highest reward of teaching.

In my first 4 years with Direct English I was a full time instructor. Now, however, I wear several hats. I am now the manager for training and recruiting and I also teach. Although I consider myself fortunate to have had this opportunity, I am by no means unique. There are many individuals in our company filling a variety of roles. At Direct English you will certainly reap the rewards of your efforts.

As a recruiter I try to follow a philosophy of flexibility, and I advise teachers coming to Korea for the first time to do the same. I let our potential staff members know right away that they are most responsible for their success as teachers in Korea. You will be provided with the tools for success but it is you who will utilize those tools.

We have many tutors, who have been with us for several years, myself included, who appreciate the consistency and stability Direct English provides. Unlike many of our competitors, we provide a very ideal atmosphere for teachers who whish to excel in their profession.

My success here, and the success of many others, stem from a focus on the student. I try to give them my full effort in each and every class. If you follow that objective, the rewards will be great.
